Spectator Code of Conduct

Welcome to the wonderful world of Hardin Valley Middle School Soccer!

As we dive into the season, let’s keep the sidelines safe and fun for ALL players!Here are some important guidelines to keep our soccer Spirit alive and kicking:

1. Cheer, Don’t Critique!
   No criticizing players or coaches from any team – that’s a no-no. Remember, we’re here to inspire, not to dissect!

2. Keep it Clean!
   Watch your language. No need for a dictionary of curse words at the game. Let’s keep the vibe family-friendly and fun!

3. Hands Off the Coaching!
   Coaching your player from the sidelines is a big no. We want kids to play by instinct, not because Dad shouted at them to “kick it!”

4. Ask, Don’t Bash!
   A Guide to Post-Game Coach Chats

   So, you’ve just watched your team kick, slide, and sprint their way through a thrilling match, and you’ve got a question or two buzzing like a swarm of over-caffeinated bees in your brain. But here’s the key rule of the soccer galaxy: Do not approach your coach right after the game!

   Why? Because right after the final whistle blows, emotions can run high—think of a piñata filled with confetti and energy drinks. Your coach just navigated a high-stakes ship on a stormy sea of goals, fouls, and questionable referee calls. Waiting 24 hours allows time for things to settle, like a good ol’ jar of peanut butter.

   After a day of calm contemplation, the chances are everyone will be cooler than a penguin in sunglasses, ready to discuss insightful questions without the emotional cloudiness that often follows a game. You’ll be equipped with clarity, and a better perspective.

   So, channel your inner chill, grab some popcorn, and remember that good things come to those who wait (and that includes coach consultations). Stay patient!.

5. Respect the Refs!
   They’re doing their best (and sometimes their worst). No yelling or criticizing, please! They are the unsung heroes of the game, even if they make a “questionable” call.

6. Support, Don’t Spar!
   Opposing team parents are not your enemy. Let’s keep the peace and support our kiddos without turning into rival gladiators!

7. All Players Matter!
   Cheer for all the players on the field. After all, they’re out there living their best soccer lives!

8. Cool Down Corner!
   If your frustration starts bubbling over like a lava lamp, step away for a cool-off period. Breathe in, breathe out—think Zen!

9. First Aid First, Please!
   If a player gets hurt, no need to rush onto the field like a superhero! Our coaches and refs will assess the injury and call you if they need you.

10. Zero Tolerance Zone!
    Remember, hostility or violence won’t fly in our realm. If it happens, you're outta here—faster than a speeding soccer ball!
